About Cedar & Clay

Cedar & Clay was born from a shared vision between two lifelong friends, Hannah Green and Emma Clarke, who believed in the power of craftsmanship to transform everyday objects into works of art. The idea began in 2016 during a road trip through Canada’s rugged landscapes. Inspired by the serene forests, pristine lakes, and humble artistry of local communities, Hannah and Emma envisioned a place where nature and craftsmanship could meet. Starting with a small studio in their garage, they combined their love of woodworking and pottery to create a series of handcrafted pieces for friends and family. Word spread quickly. The duo’s attention to detail and dedication to sustainability earned praise, and soon, Cedar & Clay expanded from a passion project into a full-fledged business. By 2018, they opened their first online store, offering hand-thrown ceramics, wooden home essentials, and eco-friendly kitchen accessories. Every product reflected their mission: to craft timeless, functional designs inspired by nature. As the business grew, so did their commitment to their customers and the planet. They began sourcing ethically harvested wood and local clay, collaborating with skilled artisans across Canada to bring new designs to life. Every piece—from rustic dinnerware to hand-carved serving trays—tells a story of care, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Today, Cedar & Clay stands as a symbol of intentional living. Our products honor nature’s beauty while promoting a sustainable future. Whether it’s a ceramic vase gracing your dining table or a wooden accessory in your kitchen, we hope our work inspires moments of connection and joy.
